Laundry basket
This laundry basket is rather famous... it has appeared in two of our shows. (We're also rather fond of kitchen tables.)
The laundry basket is where we keep the laundry but other things creep into it too... feathers, fragments of text, images that have inspired us, memories, some debris from rehearsals and of course an odd sock that nobody owns..
We will keep things safe here, possibly to be forgotten, possibly to be dug out and re-used one day.

'This is a daughter who keeps her shoes in their box in the wardrobe. She wore them once, at Christmas. Now they are for looking at, and remembering that she was like this, once. She wraps them in tissue paper with her dreams, and she is careful with them. This is a daughter who is afraid that she might not be perfect. She keeps her heart safe and lonely and she does not take risks. She won't wear these shoes again but she will keep them. She cries easily but quietly, and in secret.'
