Foulisfair Theatre is a cutting-edge contemporary company that devises physical and thought-provoking pieces of drama. Its work is visually striking, emotionally powerful and politically aware. Originally founded at The Workshop Theatre, University of Leeds, the company is now touring nationally and is based in Gloucestershire.

Devising workshops

Devising workshops focus on one or more of the following areas. Each session will be tailor-made to meet the specified learning needs of your students:

  • Outside the Box: Responding creatively to a range of stimuli
  • Overcoming the blank stage: Generating material for performance
  • The Jigsaw: Shaping and structuring material to create fluidity and meaning
  • Skills Base: Movement and physical theatre, working as an ensemble
  • The Make-Up Case: Contemporary approaches to improvisation

These courses are suitable for students of the following courses: GCSE and A Level Drama, BTEC First Certificate, BTEC First Diploma and BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts.

The workshop leader is a practising performer and director as well as a qualified and experienced Drama teacher, with five years experience of examining practical performances at a national level.
